Backpacks are a piece of Equipment which can be placed on the Players Back.
Overview
The "Unlock Backpack" recipe can be crafted at the Workbench using 8 Medium Leather and 8 Iron Ingots . When a player reads the created "recipe" they will unlock 9 additional inventory slots which can be used to store any items.
The backpack is accessed by clicking the Backpack icon in the inventory screen (third icon to the right of the player avatar).

Backpacks aren't currently visible on player models in game, they are purely functional.
