Building is an integral part of Hytale's gameplay loop. The player can modify the world in diverse ways by using or destroying Blocks using some Tools in the process. Depending on the gamemode, the player may need to recollect those blocks or craft them, using specific tools. Also, depending on it, the player could be restricted to place one block at the time, a small selection of blocks at the time or, without any restriction, placing entire structures with one click, but the details of this are currently unknown.

Each block naturally gained (obtained or crafted) is considered a material, and that means that it can be changed to any type of block based on it.
